Coaches now have greater flexibility when setting nutrition goals for clients, with three available options:

  • All Macros

  • Calories Only

  • Protein and Calories

Note: These Macro Goal Settings can only be selected from the web app.

Coach web app

In the pop-up for setting macro goals, you’ll find three options to choose from:

  1. All Macros: You will set goals for all macros (Protein, Carbs, and Fat)

  2. Calories Only: You will only need to set a goal for Calories.

  3. Protein and Calories: You will need to set goals for both Calories and Protein.

Note: If setting goals by grams, the Calorie value must be at least 4 × the number of grams of Protein (since each gram of protein equals 4 calories, if you're setting goals by grams, the calorie value must reflect at least the energy from protein alone).

If setting goals by percentage, Protein must be ≤ 100% of total calories.

Macros without a set goal (or set to 0) will be displayed with a dash symbol “–” in the Macros tab.

Coach mobile app

The macro setting selected on the web app will determine which macro goal fields are displayed in the coach mobile app.

If the coach selects Protein and Calories on the web app, the coach app will display fields to set goals for both Calories and Protein.

Sync with Dietary Preferences

The macro goals you set will automatically be displayed in the Dietary Preferences section of the client’s Meal Plan tab and reflect the selections made in the Macro Goal settings pop-up.

Based on the selected Macro Goal setting, you can also update the Macro Goals Generation Settings to generate meals aligned with that goal.

Here’s how:

  • If the setting is set to All Macros, you’ll see all three options available when generating a meal plan. You can choose any of them to generate a plan that best fits your client’s needs.

  • If the Macro Goal Setting is set to Calories Only, the meal plan will be generated based on calories only.

  • If the setting is Protein and Calories, you’ll have two options available when generating a meal plan: Calories Only and Protein and Calories.

What your clients will experience

Clients will only be able to view and edit the macro goals that were set by their coach. Depending on the setting, they can adjust: all macros (protein, carbs, fat), protein and calories only, or just calories.

For Weekly and Daily view of Protein and Calories setting:

  • Weekly View

  • Daily View

If the goal is set to Calories Only, the Daily View will display Calories only.

Note: Clients can still log all macros (protein, carbs, and fat) when adding meals, regardless of which macro goal setting is used.
