What is a Recipe?

This feature allows coaches to create customized recipes, including ingredient lists, cooking instructions, and nutritional information, to help their clients achieve their health and wellness goals.

The Pro or Studio plan allows you to create up to 20 custom recipes. You can explore the 'Custom Meal Plans' add-on to create more for your library.

How to Create a Recipe

Check out our video tutorial here.

Step 1: Add a new recipe from your library

Navigate to the Library tab on the left navigation menu, select Recipes, and click on the Create New Recipe button.

Step 2: Name your recipe and add a cover image

By default, it will use a random cover image. You can upload your own recipe image to replace it in the Create Recipe pop-up or change it later on the Recipe detail screen.

Step 3: Add all recipe details

Add Description

Adding a description is optional, but it can help your clients understand additional information about a recipe, beyond the basic ingredients and instructions.

Add Category

You can select multiple options to categorize your recipe, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack, Soup, Salad/Bowl or Others. For more information, refer to this article.

Add Prep Time & Cooking Time

You need to input either the Prep Time or Cooking Time to publish the recipe.

Add the number of servings

The default number of servings is 1. You can add it up to match the portion size of your recipe.

Add Dietary Information

Adding Dietary Information is optional, but it could help to provide your clients with important details about the nutritional composition and dietary considerations of the meal. For more information, refer to this article.

Add Ingredients

Clicking on the + Add Ingredients button opens the corresponding pop-up with a list of the system ingredients. In this pop-up, you can type the ingredient name to search or click on the ingredient category to quickly display all ingredients that belong to the category you want to focus on.

All selected ingredients will be displayed on the Ingredients list. You will need to add value for each of the added ingredients to publish the recipe, according to the ingredient unit which you can adjust.

Add Instructions

Adding a YouTube/Vimeo instructions video is optional, but it could help to provide your clients with a visual demonstration of the cooking process.

You are required to input either the preparation instructions or the cooking instructions to publish the recipe. You can add the image for each of the steps to make it easier for your clients to follow along and successfully replicate the recipe.

Add Nutrition Infomation

You will need to add the basic macronutrients (Protein/Carbs/Fat) to your recipe. The other macronutrients (Saturated Fat, Sugar, Fiber...) are optional. Please notice that macronutrients are for only 1 serving.

Step 4: Save and Publish your recipe

After adding all the necessary information and data, you can save your recipe as a Draft. You will need to publish the recipe to assign it to your clients or add it to the Meal Plan.

Recipe Preview

On your Recipes Library, it will only show the published recipes by default, into All Published Recipes and Your Published Recipes categories.

If you want to see the draft recipes, you will need to click on the Show Draft button to enter the draft recipe list.

How to assign the recipe to a Client or a Meal Plan?

Assign the recipe to a Client

Navigate to the Client's Meal Plan screen, then click on the + Add Recipe button of each meal category (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) to open a corresponding pop-up to add the recipe.

You can click on each particular date on the left-side bar's calendar to select a different date to assign the recipe to the client.

Please see this article.

What will your Clients experience?

Today's Meals

If there are meals assigned for today, your clients will see those recipes displayed on the Today's Meals section of the Today screen.

Clicking on a meal will navigate to the meal detail screen where your clients can see all the necessary information, detailed instructions, and macronutrients for the meal.

Weekly's Meals

Your clients can navigate to the Coaching screen to see an overview of the meals assigned for this week.

Clicking on the container will navigate to the Meal Plan screen which shows all assigned meals for the week (default is this week), along with the meal categories and weekly nutrition averages.

Clicking on a day will navigate to the Day detail screen where the Daily Nutrition and all assigned meals are displayed, organized by the meal categories (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner...).

Shopping List

In the Week View or Day View screens, tap the Shopping List button to open your most recently used list.

To add items to your shopping list, simply tap the basket icon.

For more details on how to remove recipes from a shopping list, as well as how to create, edit, or delete a shopping list, please refer to this article: Meal Planner - Shopping list.

Log Meal To Macros

Your clients can log their meals to Macros by clicking on the Log Meal button on the top-left of the meal detail screen.

They can adjust the number of servings to the actual intake of calories. Once the meal is logged to Macros, you will be notified by a corresponding notification.

Replace a recipe

This feature is only available on the Custom Meal Plans add-on.

Once the Allow client to replace recipes setting is enabled, clients can substitute an assigned recipe with one from the Recipe library. This feature lets them customize recipes to suit their dietary requirements, taste preferences, or cooking skills.

The clients are only able to replace a recipe for the current week from Today and next week.

Simply click on the ٠٠٠ button on the top-left of the meal detail screen then click on Replace Meal. From there, the clients can select any available meal to replace.
Once the meal is replaced, the coach will be notified by a corresponding notification.
