Everfit’s Payment & Packages feature allows you to securely collect payments from your clients and receive payouts through Stripe.
When you connect Stripe to Everfit for the first time, you'll be asked to confirm your business details before completing Stripe's onboarding process.
These details help Everfit create a Stripe-compliant statement descriptor, the short name clients see on their bank or card statement, and are automatically carried into Stripe so you don't have to enter the same information twice.
Note: Stripe payments are processed through Everfit, but the payment is made on behalf of your connected Stripe account. Your business is therefore shown as the business behind the charge.
Before you start
Stripe setup is available on Coach web.
Only the workspace owner or assigned Payment Admin can access the Setup Payment page.
The business details setup described below applies when connecting Stripe for the first time.
Who can set up payments?
Only the workspace Owner or an assigned Payment Admin can access the payment setup and connect a Stripe account.
A Payment Admin can:
Connect and manage the Stripe account
Complete identity verification
Manage payment setup on behalf of the workspace owner
Being a Payment Admin does not transfer workspace ownership or grant any other elevated permissions.
Assign a Payment Admin
Go to Payment & Packages and open Setup Payment.
In the Payment Admin section, click Assign Teammate.
Select a teammate from the list. You can search by name or email.
Click Assign.
Review the confirmation message and click Confirm & Assign.
The assigned teammate will be notified through the Notification Center.
Note: If a teammate doesn't appear in the list, they first need access to Payment & Packages.
Change or remove the Payment Admin
On the Setup Payment page, click Change Teammate.
To change the Payment Admin, select another teammate and click Update, then confirm the change.
To remove the Payment Admin, click the X on the current teammate and select Remove.
Only one Payment Admin can be assigned at a time. Assigning a new Payment Admin immediately removes the previous one.
Connect your Stripe Account
When connecting Stripe for the first time, Everfit will guide you through two steps before opening Stripe.
Step 1: Confirm your business details
This pop-up appears after you select your country and before Stripe onboarding opens.
1. Enter your coaching business name
Your Coaching business name is prefilled with your workspace name, but you can edit it.
This is the name your clients recognize your business by. It does not need to be the same as your registered legal business name.
2. Select how you operate your coaching business
Choose one of the following:
I'm an individual — You operate under your own name and will verify your personal identity and personal bank account.
I have a registered business — You operate through a registered company and will verify your business details and business bank account.
Non-profit — You operate a registered non-profit organization.
United Arab Emirates: Coaches in the UAE can only select I have a registered business because Stripe requires a registered entity in this market.
For more details, please refer to the relevant article based on your business type below:
3. Enter your name or legal business name
The field shown depends on the business type you selected:
I'm an individual: Enter the Business owner's full name, including first and last name.
I have a registered business or Non-profit: Enter the Legal business name of your registered entity.
Business name vs. legal business name
These two names can be different:
Business name: The name clients recognize your business by, such as Strong with Sam.
Legal business name: The registered name of your legal entity, such as Samuel Johnson Fitness Holdings Inc.
You do not need to make these names match.
4. Click Continue.
Everfit will check the information you've entered. Any missing or invalid fields will be highlighted before you can continue.
Step 2: Review your public profile
The second pop-up contains information that will be used during Stripe onboarding, along with a preview of your statement descriptor.
1. Check your website or social profile
Everfit automatically fills this field using:
Your website, if one is available
Otherwise, your first available social profile in this order:
Instagram
X
YouTube
Facebook
TikTok
LinkedIn
The field is required and must contain a valid web address.
2. Check your contact details
Your Owner's email is prefilled with the workspace owner's email address.
Your Owner's phone is also prefilled if a phone number is available. You can select the country and dialing code from the available options.
3. Review your statement descriptor
The statement descriptor is the name your clients see next to the charge on their bank or card statement.
Everfit automatically generates a descriptor based on your business information, and you can edit it before continuing.
Your statement descriptor must:
Be between 5 and 22 characters
Contain at least one letter
Use Latin letters only
Not contain certain special characters, including backticks, spaces, apostrophes, quotation marks, or asterisks
Resemble your business name, legal business name, or website
For example:
Business name | Statement descriptor |
Strong with Sam |
|
Tyler Blackard |
|
Note: Stripe stores statement descriptors in uppercase. If your descriptor appears in uppercase after connecting Stripe, this is expected.
4. Click Connect account.
The button remains disabled until all required information is valid.
What information is sent to Stripe?
When you click Connect account, Stripe onboarding opens with the following information prefilled:
Business name (DBA)
Account owner's first and last name
Phone number
Website
Owner's email address
Final statement descriptor
You can still edit these values in Stripe.
You'll need to complete the remaining Stripe onboarding steps yourself, including providing your identity documents and bank account information.
Important: Your legal business name is not prefilled into Stripe's company name field. If you selected I have a registered business or Non-profit, you'll need to enter your legal business name directly in Stripe.
Going back during setup
If you click Back while completing the setup, you'll return to the previous step and your entered information will remain available.
If you close the pop-up using X or cancel the setup completely, your information will not be saved and you'll need to start again the next time you connect Stripe.
Check your Stripe account status
After connecting Stripe, you can view your account status directly from:
Payment & Packages > Setup Payment
The status shown on the page is based on information from Stripe.
If there's an issue, a banner will explain what needs to be done and provide an appropriate action.
Stripe account statuses
Status | What it means | What to do |
Connected, payouts enabled | Your account is fully set up and payouts are enabled. | No action is required. |
Pending | Stripe has created your account but hasn't finished verifying it. | Wait for Stripe to complete verification. |
Information missing/required | Stripe needs additional information. | Click Resolve in Stripe and provide the requested information. |
Payout paused | Payouts are temporarily on hold, for example because of a dispute or a bank account change requiring re-verification. | For a dispute, contact Everfit. For a bank account change, complete identity verification again. |
Action needed | Stripe has flagged your statement descriptor and provided a deadline to correct it. | Click Resolve in Stripe and update the descriptor before the deadline. |
Restricted | Both payouts and the ability to accept payments are paused. | Click Resolve in Stripe and complete the required actions. |
Stripe notifications
Everfit notifies both the workspace owner and Payment Admin when action is required on the Stripe account.
Notifications may be sent through:
In-app notifications
Push notifications
Email
You may receive a notification when:
Information is missing or required
Payouts are paused because of a dispute
Your statement descriptor does not sufficiently match your business name, legal name, or website
Your account has been restricted
Stripe cannot verify your account
A client makes a payment while identity verification is still outstanding
Payouts are paused because your bank account was changed
You can find payment-related notifications in the Notification Center under the Payment or Setup payment category.
Verify your identity
Identity verification is required when Stripe needs to confirm the identity of the account owner.
How to verify your identity
On the Setup Payment page, click ID Number Check or Document Check.
Review the Required for successful verification message.
Make sure the identity you're submitting belongs to the person who owns the Stripe account and bank account.
Click Confirm & continue to verify to continue to Stripe.
Complete the verification process in Stripe.
If you don't want to continue, click Cancel.
Important: The identity submitted must belong to the Stripe account owner and the person associated with the bank account. Submitting someone else's identity, such as a manager's or spouse's, can cause Stripe to pause payouts or restrict the account.
While Stripe is processing your verification, the verification buttons will show Processing and remain unavailable until Stripe returns a result.
If verification fails, the workspace owner and Payment Admin will be notified and asked to complete the verification again.
If you're already connected to Stripe
If your Stripe account was already connected before this update, you won't see the new business details pop-ups when opening Stripe.
You can still manage your relevant business and statement descriptor information directly through Stripe.
Your statement descriptor is now based on your own business setup rather than automatically starting with EVERFIT.
This means clients may see your coaching business name instead of a name beginning with "EVERFIT" on their card statement. This is expected and does not indicate an unauthorized charge.
