Send Photos & Videos Directly from Your Camera in Inbox Messages and Comments

You can now capture photos and record videos directly from your computer's webcam when sending messages in the Inbox or posting comments, no need to leave Everfit, save files, or upload them manually.

This makes it easier to share progress updates, exercise demonstrations, feedback, and more in just a few clicks.


Feature Availability

This feature is available to coaches on paid Everfit plans only.

If you're currently on a free plan, you'll need to upgrade your subscription to access camera capture and recording capabilities within Inbox messages and comments.


Open the Camera

  1. Open an Inbox conversation or comment section on the Web App.

  2. Click the Attachment icon in the message composer.

  3. Select Open Camera.

You'll see two options:

  • Open Camera – Capture a photo or record a video using your webcam.

  • Attach a File – Upload an existing image or video from your device.

Camera Permissions

The first time you use the camera, your browser may ask for permission to access your camera and microphone.

  1. Click Allow & Open Camera.

  2. Approve the browser permission request.

If access is blocked, you'll need to update your browser's camera permissions before continuing.


Capture a Photo

The Camera opens in Photo Mode by default.

  1. Position yourself in the camera preview.

  2. Click the Shutter button to take a photo.

  3. Review your photo.

You can then:

  • Click Retake to take a new photo.

  • Click Attach Media to add the photo to your message.

Once attached, click Send to share it.


Record a Video

  1. Click the Video tab inside the Camera window.

  2. Click the Record button to begin recording.

The maximum recording length is 10 minutes.

During recording, you can:

  • Pause and Resume recording.

  • Stop recording at any time.

Once recording is complete, you'll enter the video review screen.

From there, you can:

  • Preview your recording.

  • Retake the video.

  • Trim the recording before attaching.

  • Attach the video to your message.

Click Send when you're ready to share it.


Trim a Video Before Sending

Before attaching a video, you can trim unwanted sections.

  1. In the video review screen, locate the timeline below the preview.

  2. Drag the left handle to choose where the video should start.

  3. Drag the right handle to choose where the video should end.

Only the selected portion will be attached when you click Attach Media.


Camera Settings

Several camera controls are available directly within the Camera window.

Switch Camera Devices

If multiple cameras are connected to your computer:

  1. Click the Camera Selector.

  2. Choose the camera you'd like to use.

Change Video Quality

Click the HD button to switch between:

  • HD (720p) – Higher quality (default)

  • SD (360p) – Smaller file size

Enable Grid Overlay

Click the Grid button to display a 3×3 composition grid over the preview.

The grid is only visible while framing your shot and does not appear in the final photo or video.

Select a Microphone (Video Only)

When recording videos:

  • Choose a microphone from the microphone selector.

  • Mute or unmute audio using the microphone icon.

If no microphone is detected, video recording will still work without audio.


Apply Background Effects

You can enhance your photo or video before capturing it using built-in background effects.

Available options include:

Blur Background

Softly blurs your background while keeping you in focus.

Everfit Background

Replaces your background with an Everfit-branded image.

The selected effect will be applied to the final photo or video that gets attached to your message.


Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to upload a file from my computer first?

No. You can capture photos and videos directly within Everfit and attach them immediately.

What's the maximum video length?

Videos can be recorded for up to 10 minutes.

Can I trim my video before sending it?

Yes. You can adjust the start and end points of the recording before attaching it.

Can I use an external webcam or microphone?

Yes. If multiple devices are connected, you can choose which camera and microphone to use from the Camera settings.

Are background effects included in the final media?

Yes. Any selected background effect will be applied to the photo or video that is sent.
