It's time to take your business to the next level and strengthen your fitness brand! Before submitting a custom app icon, please make sure it meets the following requirements to avoid rejection during the review process for iOS and Android.
App Icon Requirements
1. Use a square image (1:1 ratio)
Your app icon must be a perfect square.
Minimum size: 1024 × 1024 px
File type: JPEG
Do not apply rounded corners, as iOS and Android automatically mask icons into different shapes on each device.
2. Use a solid, opaque background
Your icon must have a solid (non-transparent) background.
Transparent backgrounds are always rejected.
Avoid complex backgrounds such as gradients, patterns, or multiple colors if your artwork isn't already square, as these cannot be adjusted for submission.
3. Keep important elements within the safe zone
To prevent your logo or artwork from being cropped on different devices, keep all important elements inside the safe area.
Safe zone: 724 × 724 px (centered within the 1024 × 1024 canvas)
Do not place logos, text, or graphics too close to the edges.
4. Keep the design simple
Use a single, recognizable logo, graphic, or illustration that represents your brand.
Avoid:
Small or intricate details
Busy designs
Multiple focal points
Simple icons are more recognizable and display better on all screen sizes.
5. Use minimal text
Whenever possible, avoid text entirely.
If text is necessary:
Maximum 15 characters per line
Must be large, sharp, and easy to read
Icons with long text or text that is too small may be rejected.
6. Do not use real photos
Your app icon should only contain:
Your logo
A graphic
An illustration
Real photographs cannot be used as app icons.
7. Make sure the artwork is easy to see
Your logo or artwork should be appropriately sized.
Avoid making the logo too small.
Use sufficient contrast between the artwork and background.
Ensure thin lines are thick enough to remain visible on smaller screens.
You can reference other apps on your phone for an idea of what works best.
8. No promotional text
Do not include text that indicate ranking or promote deals.
9. Copyright violation
Do not use icon elements that are owned by other businesses. Your submission will be rejected if another recognizable brand shows up in your icon, or else you will need to provide proof of ownership for the design.
